Walks
Directly from San Mamete you can start walking on several parcourse, with different grades of difficulty, that leads to the mountains.
For the passionate trekkers is possible to reach the several villages of the valley or the alpine huts situated on more challenging footpaths.
Villa Fogazzaro
A wonderful 1800 villa, once home of Antonio Fogazzaro, famous Italian writer. His most famous romance was “Piccolo Mondo Antico”.
The villa is situated on the shores of Lake Lugano at two kilometres from the hotel; the visit brings you in a passed time as the interiors are kept untouched with original furniture from the FAI (Fondo Ambiente Italiano).

Castello
Small enchanted village of Valsolda. Castello can be reached on foot directly from the hotel and is situated on a medieval defensive rock.
From the church of Castello you can enjoy an unbeatable panorama over the lake and mountains, the inside is painted with frescos from Paolo Pagani and it is named the “small Sistine chapel”.
To the painter/architect Paolo Pagani is named a museum in his native house in Castello.
Lugano
International Swiss city, offers several services and the possibility to have a day cruise on the lake. The historical center of town, full of restaurants and shops, gives you the opportunity to walk away from the traffic.
Lake Como and his villas
At only 18 km from the hotel is possible to reach the town of Menaggio.
Lively point of interest and goal for lots of tourists, is the departure point of departure to visit Bellagio and Varenna by boat. Also departure point for a boat excursion to Como and visit the walled ancient city with return with the hydrofoil.
Lake Como is also famous for the numbers of villas on his shores, some are private and some can be visited.
Val Verzasca and Borromean islands – Lake Maggiore
Val Verzasca is a secluded valley that has been excluded from the modernization of the surrounding valleys. Gives you the possibility to visit 1800 villages and take a swim tin the clear and cold waters of the Verzasca river. The Borromean islands on Lake Maggiore gives you the possibility to visit a typical fisherman’s village and the botanic gardens of Isola Bella.
